UConn Health’s New Chief Privacy Officer Arrives

Elle Box has joined UConn Health as its new assistant vice president for health care compliance and privacy, the institution’s chief privacy officer.

Box arrived Aug. 26 from TMC Health in Tucson, Arizona, where she served as chief compliance officer and HIPAA privacy officer. She also served as director of compliance as Merit Laboratory Partners.

“I know Elle’s professional and educational experience, her collaborative style and her strong leadership skills will serve us well at our academic medical center,” says Dr. Bruce T. Liang, UConn Health’s interim chief executive officer.

Before holding leadership roles in health care compliance, Box was a forensic immunochemist and certifying scientist in Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GCMS) and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) toxicology at AEGIS Sciences. She holds a master’s in pharmacology and toxicology from Michigan State University and a bachelor’ in clinical laboratory science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
