The NIEHS Partnerships for Environmental Public Health (PEPH) network hosted a webinar highlighting organizations that train American Indian and Alaska Native workers and communities in hazardous materials safety, with funding from the NIEHS Worker Training Program (WTP). The Dec. 7 webinar was the first of two PEPH webinars featuring WTP grantees and their efforts to deliver safety and health training to tribal communities. EPA selects Alaska Forum and Zender Environmental Health and Research Group for $1 million in Brownfield Environmental Job Training Grants
December 14, 2022 Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the selection of the Alaska Forum and Zender Environmental Health and Research Group in Alaska, to receive a total of $1 million in grants for environmental job training programs funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The grants are among 29 new grants awarded nationally through EPA’s Brownfields Job Training Program to recruit, train, and place workers for community revitalization and cleanup projects at brownfield sites. “President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is supercharging EPA’s Brownfields Program, which is transforming blighted sites, protecting public health, and creating economic opportunities in more overburdened communities than ever before,” said EPA Deputy Administrator Janet McCabe.…

Training Description Join EGLE Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division Community Water Supply staff in a demonstration of how to create a MILogin for Third Party account, request access to MiEHDWIS, complete the Certifier Agreement process, and utilize the Customer Portal to submit documentation to EGLE electronically. Who should attend? Community water supply staff members responsible for submitting documents to EGLE.
