Best and worst restaurant inspection reports for the week ending Dec. 13, 2022

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department inspects restaurants twice a year and grades the businesses on a 100-point scale. Scores below 70 require corrective action. Restaurants are reinspected if they fail to meet critical standards.

To file a health-related complaint, call the Department of Environmental Health at 423-209-8110. The scores are original and do not reflect on-the-spot changes, which sometimes lead to upward adjustments.

77 Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant 

668 Battlefield Pkwy., Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia

Reasons including top portion of microwave, inside portions of reach-in cooler, and slicer with accumulation of food debris. Inspector observed fan covers over blowers in walk-in cooler with accumulation of dust. Hush puppy mix and butter cold holding at temperatures above 41. Raw fish being thawed in standing water. No inspection report posted in drive-thru window. Wet mop not in use stored in dirty water in mop bucket. Several areas in need of repair including floor tiles and wall base coat in back of facility. Several brooms on floor throughout facility. Back door had visible light due to crack that is vulnerable to pest entry.
